Getting Settled

Unpacking we will go.....

Slowly, but surely, we are getting settled in. I feel like I haven't done much, but when I look at the mound of packing paper and boxes, I know that I put that stuff somewhere. Now if only someone would magically make them disappear! So far, this is my progress. At least the kitchen is done and I have somewhat accomplished something! More pictures to come....after the genie takes away the boxes!

Davis Is A Soccer Tot

First of all, I'm posting from my phone, and not understand the new version. So if my pictures all show up at the bottom, which I'm sure they will, then I have no clue what's going on!

Davis started Soccer Tots last week and I'm not sure if he likes it more, or me. It's a parent participation class, so I really loved watching him go crazy on a soccer ball. Watch out David Beckham! The class is about listening and following directions, and having fun. I haven't signed him up for any tournaments yet! :) I have to say, I think my kid is a natural. Of course since I'm his mom, I'm going to think this. I'll be looking into scholarships!
Some of the activities they did included the coach rolling a large hula hoop and the child running as fast as they could to get it; running through hoops and kicking a ball into the goal; (Davis rocked at that one!) and different games with cones.
Our next class is this Friday (which is also moving day!! Yay!!) and I'm so excited!

Mother's Day Recap

Mother's day was yesterday, and I hope everyone had a blessed and wonderful day. I had such an amazing day. Time with my family and time to myself. Perfect amounts of both. We started off going to church, where Davis thinks we are going for an extra long story time. As I go to grab crayons out of my purse, this is what I almost handed him...

In my defense, I save corks and still hope to make a wreath. When that will actually happen, I'm not too sure :)
Michael and Davis also surprised me with these beyond gorgeous flowers.
I think they did pretty good!

Off to brunch after mass and I think the food was like a party in my mouth. I haven't found one place here yet that I wouldn't go back to. Plus it's nice that they aren't all chains, and local establishments.
By the time we got back, it was Davis' nap time and Michael had to work. What?!? I should go check out the thrift stores and consignment places? Okay, I'll go! My friend Melissa and I went for hours, door to door, to antique stores and thrift stores. It was sooooo much fun!

What did you do?? Hope you had an amazing day!

Mama Got A Vacation

Alert the press!! I just got back from a...wait for it...girl trip!! Oh, yeah, baby. You read right! I, a mom to a crazy 2.5 year old, flew the coop. I can't express enough how wonderful it was. A friend of mine was going to San Francisco to visit her family and asked if I thought I could make it. With 5 days to plan, I thought, okay, I HAVE  to make this work! And well worth it. I met up with my amazing friend, (remember rockin dress my friend made me for New Years) and went to a Bebe fashion show. Let me tell you, the dress I wore that night made me feel like a million bucks!!

Yes, that dress on the right has straws all over it. I swear, only Danielle could make a dress with straws on it, and it turn out fabulous!

Just a little AMAZING!

Kinda think you should get a dress made for yourself! You know you want to :)

It was a quick trip, but so much fun. There was a lot of shopping, drinking, shopping, drinking, and repeat. I think I may have slept a total of 8 hours the entire time and have also never downed so many Red Bulls in my life. I don't drink Red Bull, people. But I had to keep up and pretend I still got it, so we became one on this trip.
I splurged and bought these for my kitchen. Don't be jealous. I'm open about my pill popping.
(Seriously, no, I didn't buy them)

Just because I was California, didn't mean that it was going to be warm. I seriously froze my butt off!!! I also did not pack right...which meant more shopping. Oh, darn!

What?? You don't own a pair of wooden Dutch shoes? That's crazy talk!

As much fun as I had though, I was really excited to come home and see this sweet face!! Okay, and I'll admit, I can't hang like I used to. Does that mean I'm getting old? Don't answer that....

It's Catch Up Time!

I have been so bad about blogging lately. It seems like ever since I quite doing "Make My Monday" with Kelly, I have gone on blogging hiatus. Plus, I've been crazy busy with the move to Houston. In less than two weeks, we should BE IN OUR HOUSE! I feel like I've been saying that for so long now. I swear, I don't even know what are in those boxes that have been in storage for the longest time. Clothes I set aside for Davis will for sure not fit him anymore. I think he's gone through at least 3 growth spurts since I've packed everything up. I can't wait to be settled and start our normal routine again. To have some stability, my own things, be able to actually decorate my own, especially for the holidays! I mean, I'm 'pinning' all that good stuff on pintrest for a reason, ya know!

I've put Davis' potty training on the back burner right now until we move again. I figure every time we move, I am starting over again. Why not just wait a little longer until things are 'normal' again. I did buy him a new DVD that was recommended to me and he seems to really like it. Shockingly, when I picked him up from school yesterday, he'd been dry all day and told me he had to go. What?!? Is he wanting to potty train again? No, not really. But it's a start. I'm not worried about it. I mean, I'm pretty sure that he won't be going into the 1st grade with diapers still on.

Work for me has been pretty good! I'm working part time right now, in hopes that I can pick back up again and stay busy. I'm having so much fun with it, and love when people get so excited with they way they look when they are done. People have been starting to leave me google reviews and I'm finally showing up for the Houston area mobile spray tanning. Insert shriek of excitement.

Speaking of work, thank goodness I am because I just took a last minute girl's vacation to California. It was soooooooo needed and sooooooo much fun. (That's a whole other blog post...but can I just say amazing fashion show) So I'm going to have to work my butt off to pay for this trip. Tons of shopping, drinking, walking, shopping, drinking, and repeat. There was a little eating in there, but when you have a bloody mary, just eat the celery! Duh! I think I'll start standing on the street with my spray tan machine and jump out and spray some one's arm. I'll just have to say, 'whoops! Well, now you have to pay me so I can finish, because you look pretty ridiculous!' No? That won't work? Haha

Did you know that Marc Jacobs jewelry can not be fixed if it's broken? The watches can, but not jewelry. I'm telling you this for your own good. I bought a new bracelet while on vacation, and I'm not sure if I slammed my wrist down while doing shots (this may or may not have happened) and my bracelet came off and shattered. I'm thinking it's no big deal and I'll just take it back. WRONG! After taking this sucker to 4 places, I'm now covered in super glue to try and fix this thing. This was rather a splurge for me, but it's justifiable because I was on vacation! Not too happy about this, but now I have a one of a kind, super glue covered, Marc Jacobs bracelet. Don't be jealous, you know you want one!

Tonight I'm going to a peddle party? Heard of one? Basically you are on a moving bicycle/bar. This should be interesting. It's a surprise birthday party for a friend and I think it will be so much fun. Although, I've heard that people have fallen out of these amazing contraptions before. Yes, this will be me probably. I'll be sure and have someone take of picture of me lying in the street. My husband will probably just look down at me and say, 'oh, that's just Jessica. She'll catch up in a minute.' :)

I'll have to post pictures soon of my San Fran trip. I didn't get in toooooooo much trouble. hehe :)

Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!
